Meeting follows two engagements since August with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid

Sen. Ossoff sustains high tempo of meetings with key diplomatic and military figures in Middle East

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff met in Washington with Israeli Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Idan Roll.

Sen. Ossoff and Deputy Foreign Minister Roll discussed efforts toward regional security in the Middle East, toward a future when Israelis and Palestinians alike can flourish in peace, and opportunities to strengthen U.S.-Israeli cooperation in commerce, technology, public health, and the environment.

Sen. Ossoff has met twice since July with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid.

Sen. Ossoff also met earlier this year with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

Earlier this month, Sen. Ossoff hosted Lebanon Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in Washington for consultations regarding the security and economic outlook for Lebanon following Sen. Ossoff’s visit to Lebanon in August.

In May, Sen. Ossoff led 29 U.S. Senate colleagues urging a cease-fire during the outbreak of armed conflict between Israel and Hamas.
