Sen. Ossoff Working to Protect Georgia’s Small Businesses from Cyber Threats

Washington, D.C. –– U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working across the aisle to help protect Georgia small businesses from cyber threats.

According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, 43% of cyberattacks are aimed at small businesses but less than 14% are prepared to defend themselves.

Sen. Ossoff is working to pass the bipartisan Improving Cybersecurity of Small Organizations Act to help small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and local governments defend themselves from cyber threats.

“This legislation will help protect Georgia small businesses from cyberattacks, ransomware, and hackers,” Sen. Ossoff said.

Sen. Ossoff is also working to pass the Cybersecurity Opportunity Act to expand cybersecurity education programs at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and boost job opportunities in the cybersecurity field.
