Fort Valley, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff secured bipartisan support in the U.S. Senate to expand CareConnect’s Fort Valley facility.
Sen. Ossoff visited the facility last month with CareConnect CEO Dr. Ajay Gehlot, who said that the number of patients at the facility doubled — and demand has outgrown their current space.
Sen. Ossoff secured $430,000 for the facility’s expansion plans, which will allow CareConnect to add an additional 1,000 square feet to the existing 1,800 square foot building. This will allow the addition of 4 exam rooms and two additional restrooms, allowing the facility to better service and accommodate more patients and staff.
The funding passed both the Senate and House.
The CareConnect facility in Fort Valley serves predominantly low-income Georgians, including many who are uninsured or rely on Medicare and Medicaid.
“There was demand for care at CareConnect that exceeded the capacity, and this clinic is of vital importance to the residents of Fort Valley and the surrounding area. This funding will ensure the people of Fort Valley can access the health care that they need and deserve,” Sen. Ossoff said.
“On behalf of CareConnect Health and Ft. Valley community I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Sen. Ossoff and his team to get the funding to expand the clinic facility. This will help people in and around Ft. Valley to have better access to quality and affordable healthcare. We need more leaders like him in today’s world who are in touch with the needs of common people, and care for the people who need the most help with their health care,” said Dr. Ajay Gehlot, CEO and Clinical Director of CareConnect Health.
