READOUT: Sen. Ossoff Meets with Qatar’s Ambassador in Washington

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff last week week hosted Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States, Sheikh Meshal Bin Hamad Al-Thani, for a meeting in Washington, D.C.

Sen. Ossoff and Amb. Al-Thani discussed regional security in the Middle East, U.S.-Qatar security and economic cooperation, global economic developments, human rights, and Russian military aggression in Ukraine.

Sen. Ossoff thanked Amb. Al-Thani for Qatar’s assistance in the evacuation of U.S. nationals and Afghan allies from Afghanistan.

Sen. Ossoff and Amb. Al-Thani affirmed their mutual interest in maintaining a constructive dialogue and sustaining positive relations between the United States and the State of Qatar.
