Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff’s legislation to prevent flooding in and around Atlanta passed the U.S. Senate today.
Sen. Ossoff’s City of Atlanta Stormwater Management Act will help the City better design water supply and storage systems, and upgrade water treatment and distribution systems and wastewater treatment systems.
“I wrote and passed this bill to help reduce the risk of devastating flooding for homes and businesses in Metro Atlanta,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for their support.”
Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock co-sponsored the Senate legislation.
Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) introduced the House companion.
The Senate passed the bill with bipartisan support as part of this year’s Water Resources and Development Act Reauthorization.
