Sens. Ossoff, Rev. Warnock Delivering Resources for Housing Repairs in Rural Georgia

Albany, Ga. — U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are delivering new resources to upgrade housing units in rural parts of Georgia.

Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Warnock are delivering Federal funding through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Housing Preservation Grants program that will be used to complete home repairs and rehabilitation.

Housing preservation grants help ensure that housing for low-income Georgians living in rural areas meets safety standards. The grants are given to non-profit organizations and local governments to make repairs and renovations.

“Senator Reverend Warnock and I are delivering these resources to help improve the quality of housing for Georgia families,” said Sen. Ossoff. “Working families in Georgia urgently need access to affordable housing.”

“I’ve seen firsthand how difficult it is for hardworking people to afford a home, which is why I am glad Senator Osssoff and I are able to deliver new federal investments that will make it easier for Georgians to find better, more affordable housing,” said Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock. “These investments will help keep costs down and ensure our most vulnerable Georgians have a roof over their head. As a child who grew up in public housing, this is personal to me, so I won’t stop fighting to strengthen access to affordable housing across our state.”

This is the latest action in Sen. Ossoff’s continued work to help Georgia families and homeowners.

Sen. Ossoff has pushed the Federal Housing Finance Agency to address the inadequate supply of affordable housing across rural Georgia.

Earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff introduced the bipartisanHELPER Act alongside Sen. Rubio (R-FL) to help first responders, teachers and law enforcement officers to buy their first home.
