Sens. Ossoff & Warnock, Rep. Williams deliver historic $25 million for Northeast BeltLine Trail
Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding is largest Federal grant in BeltLine history
Funding will also add pedestrian safety improvements to the path

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff, Reverend Raphael Warnock, and Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) are delivering new resources to accelerate construction of the Atlanta BeltLine.
Following their years-long push to accelerate development of the BeltLine, Sens. Ossoff and Warnock and Rep. Williams are delivering $25 million through the bipartisan infrastructure law to continue expansion and upgrade facilities along the BeltLine.
The new resources, which Sens. Ossoff and Warnock and Rep. Williams secured with bipartisan support in Congress, will expand Segment 3 and Connector Trails 1-3 of the Atlanta BeltLine Northeast Trail.
The funds will be used for the construction of a 2.2-mile network of multi-use trails in northeast Atlanta between the Armour/Ottley and Lindbergh areas. This will be the first time the Atlanta BeltLine trail will connect to a MARTA transit station at Lindbergh Center, fulfilling its vision to connect with the region’s larger transportation network.
The new funding will also add necessary safety upgrades to the development, including new and improved bridge structures, ADA-accessible ramps, crosswalks and signals, lights and security cameras, stormwater infrastructure, and landscaping.
“The BeltLine is transformative Metro Atlanta infrastructure project to upgrade quality of life and spur equitable development across the region. Through the bipartisan infrastructure law, we are investing to accelerate the completion of the BeltLine Trail,” Sen. Ossoff said. “Imagine families walking and biking, restaurants, retail, and small businesses, green spaces and trail connectivity across Metro Atlanta. This is a huge step forward toward that vision.”

“The Northeast segment of the BeltLine is a huge undertaking, but Atlanta does big and we do it well—and we do it together,” said Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens. “Thanks to Senator Ossoff, Senator Warnock, Congresswoman Williams and the Biden Administration, Atlanta now has $25 million in funding—in addition to millions in infrastructure dollars already delivered—for utility, stormwater, accessibility and safety infrastructure for Segment 3 and surrounding connectors.”

In recent years, Sens. Ossoff and Warnock and Rep. Williams have secured more than $21 million in Federal funding to accelerate construction of the BeltLine and expand affordable transportation access for Georgians in and around Atlanta.
In 2021, Sen. Ossoff secured a commitment from U.S. Transportation Secretary Buttigieg to prioritize construction of the BeltLine to finalize the 22-mile loop around Atlanta.
