Augusta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff’s bill authorizing upgrades to Fort Eisenhower’s Cyber Center of Excellence was signed into law by President Biden.
Sen. Ossoff’s law authorizes construction of new classrooms at the Cyber Center of Excellence at Fort Eisenhower.
To help address rapidly advancing cybersecurity threats, Sen. Ossoff’s Ft. Eisenhower Cyber Center Enhancement Act now enables the construction of new classrooms for Ft. Eisenhower’s Cyber Center of Excellence, which provides essential training to cyber, electronic warfare, and signal professionals in the U.S. Army.
The law authorizes new funding for the Department of Defense to modernize Ft. Eisenhower’s cyber center — enhancing the center’s capabilities and upgrading classrooms to accommodate the country’s growing cyber workforce.
“The world-class Cyber Center of Excellence is crucial to U.S. national security, and the Georgians who serve there are heroes who need the infrastructure, space and facilities necessary to do their jobs to maximum effectiveness,” Sen. Ossoff said. “That’s why I wrote and passed this law with bipartisan support to secure these upgrades for Ft. Eisenhower.”
Ft. Eisenhower’s Cyber Center of Excellence is essential to our nation’s national security. According to a 2022 study, the United States is the most targeted country for cyberattacks worldwide, largely outpacing the next ranked country.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to pass his new bill through this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
