On 3rd Anniversary, Sen. Ossoff Releases Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Report for Macon & Middle Georgia

Since passage of the historic bipartisan infrastructure law 3 years ago today, Middle Georgia communities have already received over $267.1 million in Federal infrastructure investments

Macon, Ga. — Since passage of the bipartisan infrastructure law three years ago today, Macon and communities across Middle Georgia have already received over $267 million in Federal infrastructure funding to upgrade roads, expand high-speed internet, remove lead pipes from drinking water systems, and more.

Today, on the 3rd anniversary of the bipartisan infrastructure law, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff released a progress report for Middle Georgia, highlighting the historic upgrades that have been delivered so far, with more to come.

“Three years ago, we brought Republicans and Democrats in Congress together to pass the historic bipartisan infrastructure law, the most significant investment in America’s infrastructure since the Eisenhower administration. This law is upgrading our roads, highways, and bridges; removing lead pipes from our drinking water systems; expanding broadband internet access; upgrading our electric grid; rebuilding our airports and our seaports, and more. Our historic bipartisan infrastructure law will continue to deliver for Georgia for years to come,” Sen. Ossoff said.

In the last 3 years, Sen. Ossoff and the bipartisan infrastructure law have so far delivered:

  • $5.6 million to provide critical pedestrian safety upgrades along the Gray Highway Corridor in Macon.
  • $2.5 million to help expedite the cleanup of hazardous materials in Macon, Milledgeville, and Warner Robins.
  • $4.9 million for the Oconee Heights Streetscape and Safety Improvements Project, which will add pedestrian pathways and complete sidewalk connections to enhance community connectivity.
  • $36.5 million to boost high-speed internet in Bibb, Crawford, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Talbot, and Taylor counties.
  • Over $15 million for public transportation needs across Macon and Warner Robins.
  • Over $3 million for improvements to Middle Georgia Regional Airport in Macon.
  • $10.4 million to improve safety on I-75 by upgrading the guardrails along the interstate in Monroe, Henry, and Houston Counties.
  • $142,000 to upgrade natural gas infrastructure in Perry.
