Reidsville, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is expanding high-speed internet for families in rural Georgia.
Today, Sen. Ossoff is delivering $5,533,275 in Federal funds through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s ReConnect Program to Pembroke Advanced Communications to expand high-speed internet access for families, businesses, and farms in rural Georgia.
“This broadband expansion is crucial for children who are doing schoolwork at home in the afternoons, for small businesses, and for farmers. I want to make sure every community in Georgia benefits from high-speed internet access,” Sen. Ossoff said.
Sen. Ossoff continues working to deliver reliable internet access across Georgia.
Earlier this month, Sen. Ossoff announced applications for the first round of $1.3 billion in funding through the bipartisan infrastructure law are now open through the Georgia Technology Authority for local governments, internet service providers, and nonprofit organizations, among others.
Earlier this year, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Raphael Warnock delivered over $22 million to help create digital literacy programs, expand community access to computers and tablets, lower costs to get connected, and more.
In 2023, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock delivered $9,472,875 through the USDA’s Rural Development ReConnect program to help thousands of people in Candler, Evans, and Tattnall Counties access high-quality, affordable internet.
In 2022, Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock also delivered an additional $250 million expansion of high-speed internet for businesses and families across Georgia through the American Rescue Plan.
