Sen. Ossoff: Pay Discrimination Against Women Must End

Sen. Ossoff urges bipartisan vote this week to end pay discrimination against women

Washington, D.C. — This afternoon, Georgia U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is leading the charge to end pay discrimination against women in Georgia and across the country.

Sen. Ossoff is urging a bipartisan Senate vote this week to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would strengthen enforcement of the Equal Pay Act of 1963 as the wage gap between men and women performing the same jobs persists to this day.

Sen. Ossoff was an original sponsor of the legislation when it was introduced in February. The bill could receive a vote in the Senate as early as this week.

“Pay discrimination has been illegal since 1963, yet women are still not paid equally for equal work,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I am urging my colleagues to come together to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act and end pay discrimination against women once and for all.”
