C-130J aircraft are built in Marietta, Georgia
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to secure additional funding for new C-130J military aircraft in this year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which are produced in Marietta, Georgia.
In a letter earlier this year, Sen. Ossoff and a bipartisan group of Senators led the push to boost C-130J production, noting their critical role in protecting national defense.
Sens. Ossoff and Warnock also announced earlier this year that Savannah Air Guard Base is on track to be one of the new homes for the strategic C-130J planes, which has been a priority for the Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard, as well as Georgia’s Air National Guard and the Coastal Georgia defense community.
“The procurement of additional C-130J aircraft is vital to our defense and national security,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I’m working with colleagues across the aisle to boost production of these C-130J aircraft, which are built right here in Georgia, to ensure active duty, Guard, and Reserve units have the equipment they need to carry out their missions.”
