Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff’s push to strengthen energy security with hydrogen energy infrastructure for Georgia is gaining momentum.
In May, Sen. Ossoff convened Georgia business and research leaders to plan Georgia’s development of hydrogen energy infrastructure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Then, in June, Sen. Ossoff led a coalition of Georgia energy companies, universities, public transportation agencies, and clean energy advocates in support of a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy. Last week, Sen. Ossoff’s office convened key partners in Camden County to discuss coastal Georgia’s vital role in this cutting-edge energy infrastructure.
Today, a regional business coalition announced it would bid to establish hydrogen energy infrastructure across Georgia and the Southeast through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, strengthening energy independence and economic growth.
“I have been leading this effort because advanced hydrogen energy infrastructure will strengthen Georgia’s energy security and help Georgia businesses and families thrive,” said Sen. Ossoff.
The coalition includes Battelle, Southern Company, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Dominion Energy, Duke Energy, Louisville Gas & Electric Company and Kentucky Utilities Company (LG&E and KU), and others.
