Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today announced Federal grant funding is available through the bipartisan infrastructure law to help protect Georgia families from hazardous materials.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Brownfield Cleanup Grants program, made possible by the bipartisan infrastructure law, offers Federal funding to clean-up “brownfield” sites, which are oftenabandoned factory or manufacturing sites that remain contaminated with hazardous chemicals, dangerous substances, or other pollutants that pose risks to community health and safety.

Sen. Ossoff is encouraging Georgia’s local governments and nonprofit organizations to submit applications for the competitive bipartisan infrastructure law grant program and to reach out to his office for any assistance.

Applications must be submitted by November 14, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. ET and must be submitted online here.

“Our bipartisan infrastructure law will continue to deliver long-overdue upgrades to Georgia’s infrastructure for years to come, including to help ensure no family in Georgia lives in fear of contaminants in their communities,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I encourage Georgia communities to contact me and my office with any questions about this grant opportunity.”

Sen. Ossoff has previously delivered funding through the EPA’s Brownfield program for clean-up projects across the state, including in AdrianAtlantaColumbusMaconMilledgevilleRome, and Warner Robins.
