“I again condemn the Russian Government’s wrongful arrest, detention, and prosecution of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and call for his immediate release.
“Mr. Gershkovich’s detention and impending trial is a cruel and unjust violation of human rights and an attack on press freedom.
“Mr. Gershkovich and all Americans wrongfully detained around the world are not and will not be forgotten as efforts to secure their release continue.”
