Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to enhance the standard of living for Georgians living with HIV/AIDS.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering new resources for Status:Home, an organization working to boost affordable housing options for Georgians living with HIV/AIDS. With the new resources, Status:Home plans to furnish apartments for low-income Georgians.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $477,000 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package, working alongside Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock.
“I will continue strengthening health care services, facilities, and access for the people of Georgia. The fight against HIV/AIDScontinues, and this investment — which I secured with bipartisan support — will help Georgians living with HIV/AIDS access affordable high-quality housing,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank Status:Home President and CEO Maryum Lewis for bringing this proposal to my office and for her leadership in the community.”
“These much-needed funds will help us update and furnish apartments so that our residents have safe, affordable and modern housing.” said Maryum Phillips, president and CEO of Status Home (formerly Jerusalem House), the oldest and largest provider of permanent housing and holistic support for Atlanta’s low-income and homeless individuals and families impacted by HIV/AIDS. “We thank Senators Ossoff and Warnock for their work in securing this important funding which will help us deliver the continuum of housing, healthcare resources, and supportive services that are critical to our residents’ survival and contribute to their overall self-sufficiency.”
