Sen. Ossoff Fighting for Justice for Survivors of Sexual Assault & Harassment

Bipartisan legislation would ensure survivors get their day in court and can make their voices heard

Sen. Ossoff co-sponsored the bill and voted to pass it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last year

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is working to help Americans who have been targeted by workplace sexual assault and harassment secure justice.

He is calling on Congress to pass bipartisan legislation he co-sponsored that would end forced arbitration for survivors of sexual assault and harassment and give them the chance to bring their case to court.

“I’m championing this bill to ensure Georgians aren’t prevented by their employment contracts from seeking justice for workplace sexual assault and harassment,” Sen. Ossoff said.

According to The New York Times“more than 60 million American workers are subject to forced arbitration clauses in their employment contracts — often through fine print tucked into legal clauses of which the employees are unaware.”

Sen. Ossoff voted to advance the legislation out of the Senate Judiciary Committee last fall.
