Sen. Ossoff introduces new bill to enable new construction and upgrades at Ft Gordon’s Cyber Center of Excellence
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is introducing a new bill to strengthen U.S. national security by upgrading Fort Gordon’s Cyber Center of Excellence.
This week, to help address rapidly advancing cybersecurity threats, Sen. Ossoff introduced the Ft. Gordon Cyber Center Enhancement Act to enable the construction of new classrooms for Ft. Gordon’s Cyber Center of Excellence, which provides essential training to cyber, electronic warfare, and signal professionals in the U.S. Army.
The legislation will authorize new funding for the Department of Defense to modernize Ft. Gordon’s cyber center—enhancing the center’s capabilities and upgrading classrooms to accommodate the country’s growing cyber workforce.
“The team protecting our nation at Ft. Gordon needs continued support for their heroic efforts,”said Sen. Ossoff. “That is why I am introducing this legislation to upgrade facilities at Ft. Gordon’s Cyber Center of Excellence.”
Ft. Gordon’s Cyber Center of Excellence is essential to our nation’s national security. According to a 2022 study, America is the most targeted country for cyberattacks worldwide, largely outpacing the next ranked country.
Sen. Ossoff is bringing Republicans and Democrats together to pass his new legislation through this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
