Savannah, Ga. — U.S Senator Jon Ossoff is introducing legislation to raise the standard of living for servicemembers at the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC).
This week, Sen. Ossoff introduced legislation to authorize construction of a new dining facility for servicemembers at the Savannah Air National Guard Base, a key first step for the project.
The Savannah CRTC Dining Hall Construction Act would authorize replacement of the two current, sub-standard dining facilities with a new consolidated dining facility that will support better dining and service areas for the Savannah Combat Readiness Training Center and the 165th Airlift wing as they train and execute their operations.
“The Savannah CRTC is critical to U.S. national security,” Sen. Ossoff said. “That’s why I’m introducing this new legislation to ensure that our servicemembers have state-of-the-art facilities to carry out important missions and training.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to improve conditions and facilities for Georgia’s servicemembers.
Earlier this month, Sen. Ossoff introduced legislation to authorize construction of a new parachute training and maintenance facility for special operations forces at the Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield.
In April, Sen. Ossoff delivered federal funding to plan and design a Military Intelligence Battalion Hangar at Fort Stewart.
