Sen. Ossoff Speaks Again with FEMA Administrator on Georgia Disaster Response

Atlanta, Ga. — After surveying Hurricane Helene damage in South Georgia yesterday, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff spoke again this morning with FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell about disaster response and recovery efforts in Georgia.

Sen. Ossoff conveyed to Admin. Criswell the severity of property damage, power outages, fuel shortages, communications disruption, and agricultural losses in Georgia as a result of Hurricane Helene, following his survey of damage yesterday and his continuous contact with state, local, and business leaders.

Admin. Criswell updated Sen. Ossoff on FEMA’s coordination with State and local emergency management agencies, including ongoing damage assessment.

Admin. Criswell and Sen. Ossoff discussed the importance of communicating to Georgians the full range of recovery resources and programs that will be available upon the State’s completion of damage assessments.

Sen. Ossoff expressed appreciation that Admin. Criswell will be in Georgia today.
