Sen. Ossoff Statement on Loss of Georgia National Guard Servicemembers in Iraq

Atlanta, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff today released the following statement after two members of the Georgia National Guard passed away in separate, non-combat related incidents this week in Iraq, and whose identities were released by the U.S. Army on Friday.

“I join all Georgians in grieving Specialist Travis Jordan Pameni and Specialist Owen James Elliott, who lost their lives this week in Iraq.

“I also send condolences to the servicemembers of the 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment who served alongside Spc. Pameni, and the 1st Battalion, 118th Field Artillery Regiment who served alongside Spc. Elliott.

“Spc. Pameni and Spc. Elliott gave their lives in service to our country, and we will never forget their heroism and bravery.

“May their memories be a blessing.”
