Warner Robins, Ga. — U.S Senator Jon Ossoff’s legislation to strengthen U.S. national security at Robins Air Force Base (AFB) passed the U.S. Senate.
Sen. Ossoff introduced the Robins Facilities Enhancement Act to authorize the next steps of construction for the new Battle Management Complex at Robins AFB that will house secure communications networks and allow commanders to communicate with servicemembers in the field faster and more efficiently.
The legislation passed the Senate as part of this year’s National Defense Authorization Act.
“The team protecting our nation at Robins Air Force Base needs continued support for their heroic efforts,” said Sen. Ossoff. “That is why I introduced and have now passed through the Senate this legislation to upgrade facilities at Robins Air Force Base.”
Sen. Ossoff continues working to improve conditions and facilities for Georgia’s servicemembers.
In April, Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $50 million for the new Battle Management Combined Operations Complex at Robins AFB through this year’s bipartisan government funding package.
Last December, Sen. Ossoff passed into law his Robins Air Force Base Battle Management Enhancement Act through the FY24 National Defense Authorization Act, which authorized the first step in construction of a Battle Management Combined Operations Complex at Robins AFB.
In 2022, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock (D-GA) brought Senate Armed Services Committee Chair Jack Reed (D-RI) to Robins AFB to highlight the important role Robins AFB plays in U.S. national security.
