Glennville, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is continuing to support Georgia’s onion industry.

On Tuesday, Sen. Ossoff met with onion growers and inspected production facilities to see the impact of mechanization and automation on operations and how it improves efficiency for farmers.

Sen. Ossoff and the group discussed their prioritizes for the upcoming Farm Bill reauthorization, including the need to increase research funding to address plant breeding or threats posed by pests and diseases.

This week, Sen. Ossoff met with farmers and growers from key agricultural industries as Congress begins working on this year’s Farm Bill, key legislation reauthorized every five years that includes key programs, such as agricultural research, crop insurance, commodity pricing, and more.
