During their in-person meeting, Sen. Ossoff and MK Barkat discussed the U.S.-Israel alliance, regional security in the Middle East, Russia’s brutal military aggression in Ukraine, and MK Barkat’s vision for Israel’s future.
Sen. Ossoff and MK Barkat discussed relations between Israelis and Palestinians. Sen. Ossoff affirmed his commitment to helping achieve a future when Israelis and Palestinians alike can flourish in peace.
Sen. Ossoff continues to forge strong working relationships with key leaders in the Middle East.

In recent months, Sen. Ossoff has met twice with Israeli Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Idan Roll.
Sen. Ossoff met twice last year with Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid — once in Israel and once in the United States — and also met last year with Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.
In November, Sen. Ossoff hosted Lebanon Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in Washington for consultations on regional security following their September meeting in Beirut.
