Sen. Ossoff Delivering Federal Resources to Strengthen Public Safety in Warner Robins & Houston County

Warner Robins, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to keep families in Middle Georgia safe.

Sen. Ossoff is delivering $57,949 in Federal grant funding through the U.S. Department of Justice for public safety and equipment upgrades in Warner Robins and Houston County.

With the Federal funding, Houston County Sheriff’s Office will purchase a new law enforcement vehicle, and the Warner Robins Police Department will purchase new technology and provide training to officers. The Departments will split the Federal funding equally.

“I am pleased to help deliver these public safety upgrades for Warner Robins and Houston County. I remain committed to public safety for every community in Georgia,” Sen. Ossoff said.

“Houston County Board of Commissioners is grateful for the support of Senator Ossoff and the investment in public safety this grant will make,” said Dan Perdue, Chairman of the Houston County Board of Commissioners. “We take public safety and the security of all of our citizens seriously and are looking forward to using these funds in the Houston County Sheriff’s Office to ensure that every citizen of Houston County is able to prosper while feeling safe.”

Patrick. “With these resources, we will strengthen our law enforcement efforts, invest in critical equipment, and further support initiatives that promote the well-being of our residents. Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen public safety across Middle Georgia.

In October, Sen. Ossoff delivered $133,917 through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program to coordinate Federal, state, and local law enforcement efforts and help reduce violent crime in Middle and Southwest Georgia.

In September, Sens. Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock and Congressman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. delivered new resources to Crawford County to carry out fire prevention education and training, including fire code enforcement, fire/arson investigation, firefighter safety and health programming, and more.

In August, Sens. Ossoff and Warnock also delivered funding to Crawford County and the Allentown Volunteer Fire Department for professional training, wellness and fitness programs, equipment, personal protective equipment (PPE), and modifications to facilities; and to the Town of Toomsboro and Wilkinson County to retain and hire firefighters.

Sen. Ossoff also recently delivered $7 million to the Georgia Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) to strengthen Georgia’s response to the opioid epidemic and save lives.
