Savannah, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is upgrading facilities for families and kids at the West Broad Street YMCA.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering new resources to expand and enhance recreational activities for families in Chatham County, including restoring the swimming pool, adding bathroom facilities, renovating the main building, and building new playgrounds for children under five.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $642,000 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package.
“Chatham County families and children enjoy the West Broad Street YMCA every day. That’s why I brought Republicans and Democrats together to upgrade facilities at the YMCA,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank Chatham County Chairman Chester Ellis for bringing this proposal to my office and for his leadership in the community.”
Chairman Chester Ellis said, “Chatham County is excited to support West Broad YMCA in their efforts to create good quality recreational and wellness opportunities for neighborhoods served by this Hertiage Y. We will work collaboratively to restore the swimming pool and improve the outdoor sports facilities. It is the desire of the Chatham County Board to invest in programs that have long-term positive health impact in our community.”
