College Park, Ga. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is delivering new resources to upgrade water infrastructure in College Park.
Sen. Ossoff is delivering Federal funding to help the City of College Park install a new water storage tank and booster system, which will ensure residents have access to reliable, clean drinking water, and accommodate economic growth in the city.
The area experienced a deep freeze in December 2022 that resulted in numerous breaks in the East Point and Clayton County water systems, leaving residents without water, and forcing businesses to close. These new Federal resources will help upgrade the city’s water infrastructure and protect families’ and businesses’ access to water.
Sen. Ossoff brought Republicans and Democrats together to deliver $959,752 for the project through this year’s bipartisan government funding package, working alongside Congressman David Scott (GA-13).
“As the City of College Park continues to grow, there’s a need to strengthen water infrastructure for families and businesses. Working alongside Congressman David Scott, we brought Republicans and Democrats together to help upgrade water infrastructure with a new storage tank and booster station,” Sen. Ossoff said. “I thank Mayor Bianca Motley Broom for bringing this proposal to my office and for her leadership in the community.”
“We are extremely grateful for Senator Ossoff’s continued advocacy for the City of College Park and our region. He intuitively understands our needs and is a tireless champion for the State of Georgia. These investments in our water infrastructure will go a very long way to serve the residents, visitors and businesses of the City of College Park,” said College Park Mayor Bianca Motley Broom.
