Sen. Ossoff Working Across the Aisle to Strengthen Georgia’s Veterinary Workforce

Washington, D.C. — U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff is helping introduce a bipartisan bill to strengthen Georgia’s veterinary workforce.

Today, Sen. Ossoff is backing the bipartisan Rural Veterinary Workforce Act to help address the veterinary shortage across Georgia.

The bill would allow veterinarians practicing in underserved areas to exempt student loan repayments from their taxable income.

“Georgia communities depend on access to veterinary care — especially our farmers and ranchers. That’s why I am working with Republicans and Democrats to pass the bipartisan Rural Veterinary Workforce Act to strengthen Georgia’s veterinary workforce,” Sen. Ossoff said.

Sen. Ossoff continues working to strengthen Georgia’s veterinary workforce.

Last April, Sen. Ossoff delivered Federal resources to upgrade the equipment and infrastructure at the University of Georgia’s Tifton Veterinary Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratory, which conducts research and testing to prevent animal disease outbreaks and protect Georgia’s agricultural industries.
