Sen. Ossoff’s Push to Secure New Housing Facilities for Servicemembers at Fort Stewart Passes Congress

Fort Stewart, Ga. — Following his push, U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff secured bipartisan support for planning and design of new barracks at Ft. Stewart.

“Georgia soldiers at Ft. Stewart need sustainable, accommodating, and safe housing to continue keeping our nation secure. I will continue working to ensure our military servicemembers get the Federal resources they deserve,” Sen. Ossoff said

Sen. Ossoff secured $5 million for the design and planning of a new housing facility for more than 372 soldiers, expanding Ft. Stewart’s living spaces to approximately 1,600 spaces over the next five years.

Sen. Ossoff previously secured the authorization for the new barracks in last year’s National Defense Authorization Act

In addition, the new funding will prevent double-living quarters for soldiers on the base and allow Fort Stewart to meet the minimum living space standards established by the Army.
